Multifunctional, with intelligent power management
The MultiPlus combines, in a single compact case, a powerful sine wave inverter, a sophisticated battery charger with adaptive technology, and a high-speed AC transfer switch. In addition to these main functions, the MultiPlus has several advanced features, as described below.
Parallel operation and three-phase option
Up to six Multis can operate in parallel to achieve greater output power. In addition to parallel connection, three units can be configured for three-phase output.
PowerControl – Limited generator, dock, or grid power
In the Multi Control Panel, a maximum current from the generator or the dock can be set. The MultiPlus will take into account other AC loads and use the surplus for charging, thus avoiding overloading the generator or the dock power supply.
PowerAssist – Increased power capacity supply from the port outlet or the generator
This function takes the principle of PowerControl to another dimension. It allows the MultiPlus to complement the capacity of the alternative source. When a power peak is required for a short time space, as often happens, the MultiPlus will immediately compensate for any potential lack of power from the grid or generator with battery power. When the load is reduced, the excess power is used to recharge the battery.
Adaptive four-stage charger and double bank charging for lithium, sealed, AGM, gel, and flooded batteries.
The main output provides a powerful charge to the battery system through advanced "variable charging" software. The software precisely adjusts the automatic three-stage process to adapt to battery conditions and adds a fourth stage for extended float periods. The variable charging process is described in more detail in the Charger technical sheet and on our website under the "Technical Information" section. Furthermore, the MultiPlus can charge a second battery using a limited independent charging output designed to charge a battery.
High starting power
High starting power needed to start loads with high inrush current, such as converters for LED lamps, halogen lamps, or power tools.
Search mode
When search mode is activated, the inverter's consumption in no-load operation decreases by approximately 70%. In this mode, the Multi, when operating in inverter mode, turns off if there is no load or if there is very little load, and reconnects every two seconds for a brief period of time. If the output current exceeds a preset level, the inverter will continue to operate. Otherwise, the inverter will turn off again.
Programmable relay
The programmable relay is set by default as an alarm relay, meaning the relay will de-energize in case of an alarm or previous alarm (the inverter is too hot, the input ripple is nearly too high, and the battery voltage is too low).

Configuration, monitoring, and control of the system on-site
- Once installed, the MultiPlus is ready to operate.
- Some settings can be changed using DIP switches.
- Models 500/800/1200 VA: remote switch / battery charge voltage / inverter frequency / search mode.
- Models 1600/2000 VA: battery charge voltage / search mode.
- For more adjustments, you can use VEConfig or the VE.Bus Smart backpack.
Remote configuration and monitoring
Install a Cerbo GX or another GX product to connect to the internet. Operating data can be stored and displayed for free on our VRM (Victron Remote Management) website. Once connected to the internet, systems can be accessed remotely, and the configuration can be changed.
