Our facilities are located in a bioclimatic building.

Its south-facing aspect and the sum of small wind turbine energy and photovoltaic energy provide energy self-sufficiency and optimum use of natural resources. For this, we have the following production equipment:

 

Solar Modules

We have a photovoltaic solar power installation connected to the grid with an installed capacity of 45 Kw, distributed over various locations. Most notable are the solar panels installed on the façade, which act in turn as a sun visor, ideal for regulating the sunlight entering the offices, which controls solar incidence and, therefore, internal temperature.

 

Windturbines 

In addition to the solar panels, there are several wind turbines: a prototype 50 Kw unit, two 12 Kw units, a Bornay 6000 unit and a Bornay 3000 unit.

These wind turbines are connected to the grid for our own consumption as current legislation does not cover the sale of small wind turbine energy to the grid.

 

 

Energy facts and figures

In 2009, Bornay had an energy consumption at its facilities of @19,000 kWh/year, compared with production using renewable energy sources of @78,500 KWh/year, meaning we produced more than our energy needs.

 100% electric mobility

 

Another commitment to sustainability is ecological forms of transport, or in this case, the electric vehicle.

At Bornay, we get around every day in a 100% electric Nissan Leaf, which we also charge using our own renewable energy sources, specifically photovoltaic and small wind turbine energy.

With the Nissan Leaf, Bornay moves forwards even more. And what for many is the future, for us is the here and now, the present.
